PARKVILLE, Mo. – Luis Zepeda and Fray Luis Fajardo Arteaga led the
way for the Park University men’s volleyball team as the defeated Johnson and Wales University in four games, 30-24,
27-30, 30-21, 30-25, Monday evening at the Breckon Sports Center.
Park improved to 11-4 on the year and 8-1
in MAMVIC West play, while the Wildcats fell to 5-7 and 3-2 in the conference.

Arteaga led all players with 21 kills and Zepeda stepped up and knocked down 10
kills to help the Pirates to there third straight victory and keep the Pirates in first-place in the MAMVIC West.
The entire match featured 27 tied scores and 10 lead changes. In game one, Park’s middle hitters stole the show, as
Oskar Soderlund slammed home four kills and junior Jake Penolio supplied the Pirates with three kills of his own.
Starting setter, Phillip Heckmann had four huge services ace in game one as well. He finished the night with those four.
Arteaga blew up in game two, picking up seven kills in the set and had nearly as many kills in game three with
six.
Heckmann finished the night with 52 kills and Kalani Rose led all players on the floor with 11 kills.
Park will now take on the Wildcats again tomorrow, March 2 at 1:00 p.m. inside the Breckon Sports Center.
