4/5/2009: The brackets are set for the NAIA National Invitational Tournament.  You can see the final rankings for the 2009 season by clicking the "National Rankings" link above.  The seedings are set and the pools are as follows.

4/4/2009: Lindenwood and Cardinal Stritch both won their respective conference tournaments to earn the automatic qualifications to the NAIA National Invitational Tournament.  Lindenwood defeated Graceland to remain undefeated in conference play this year.  Cardinal Stritch had a tough 5 game match versus St. Ambrose in the MAMVIC East finals, but managed to come away victorious and take home the conference tournament championship.  Both teams will be headed to the National Tournament in Kansas City later this month.

4/1/2009: The MAMVIC Conference Tournament schedules are now available.  Please click the "Post-Season" link above for the entire schedule and results of both tournaments.  Play begins on Friday with the Championship matches being played this Saturday.

3/31//2009: Lindenwood and Cardinal Stritch both win their respective conference championships. 

Lindenwood won the 2009 MAMVIC West title by compiling a perfect 10-0 record this season in conference.  They are currently ranked #2 in the National Poll and will be defending their top seed in the conference tournament this coming weekend in Kansas City.

Cardinal Stritch won the MAMVIC East with an overall record of 8-2.  It was a tight race all year long and came down to the final conference match between St. Ambrose and Cardinal Stritch. Cardinal Stritch took the title with a 3-1 win over St. Ambrose.  The MAMVIC East tournament begins on Friday at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL.

Player of the Week: Vladimir Frenc - Cardinal Stritch

Setter of the Week: Mike Sauro - Johnson & Wales

Libero of the Week: Hapaki Kaululaau - Johnson & Wales

For the second straight week, Vladimir Frenc, from Cardinal Stritch University, is the NAIA player of the week.  He had 6.66 kills per game and 2.33 digs per game helping his team to a 2-0 weekly record.

Mike Sauro, a setter from Johnson and Wales University, is the NAIA setter of the week.  He averaged 13.29 assists per game while leading his team to a 2-0 record for the week.

Hapaki Kaululaau, a libero from Johnson and Wales University, is the NAIA libero of the week.  He averaged 4.43 digs per game while his team went 2-0 on the week.

Libero of the Week: Dan Tringale - Clarke 

Vladimir Frenc, a sophomore opposite from Cardinal Stritch University, is the NAIA player of the week.  He had 7.15 kills per game and a .487 kill percentage leading his team to a 5-0 record for the week.

Garrett Payne, a junior setter from Cardinal Stritch University, is the NAIA setter of the week.  He averaged 13.26 assists per game and .26 aces per game while helping his team to a 5-0 record for the week.

Dan Tringale, a freshman libero from Clarke College, is the NAIA libero of the week.  He averaged 4.38 digs per game while helping his team to a 2-1 weekly record.

Setter of the Week: Josh Haegele - Missouri Baptist

Libero of the Week: Mike Emerick - Lindenwood

Devin Shiroma, a senior outside hitter from Lindenwood University, is the NAIA player of the week.  His 3.93 kills per game and .357 kill percentage helped lead his team to a 5-0 record for the week.

Josh Haegele, a junior setter from Missouri Baptist University, is the NAIA setter of the week.  Josh averaged over 9 assists per game helping his team to a 2-2 record for the week.

Mike Emerick, a sophomore libero from Lindenwood University, is the NAIA libero of the week. Mike averaged 3.35 digs per game as his team went 5-0 for the week.

Setter of the Week: Matt Redman - Clark College

Libero of the Week: Dan Tringale - Clark College 

Dan Laure, a senior middle hitter from Lindenwood University, is the NAIA player of the week.  He had a .567 kill percentage and 1.13 blocks per game helping his team to a 5-0 record for the week.

Matt Redman, a sophomore setter from Clarke College, is the NAIA setter of the week.  He averaged 12.6 assists per game and had 2.63 digs per game helping his team to a 2-0 record for the week.

Dan Tringale, a freshman libero from Clarke College, is the NAIA libero of the week.  He averaged 3.5 digs per game and had zero passing errors out of 71 attempts helping his team to a 2-0 weekly record.

Player of the Week: Adiel Tiedjop - California Baptist

Setter of the Week: Blair Penner - California Baptist

Libero of the Week: Mike Emerick - Lindenwood 

Adiel Tiedjop, outside hitter from California Baptist, is player of the week with 7.5 kills per game and 1 block per game.

Blair Penner, from California Baptist, is setter of week with 16.5 assists per game and .75 aces per game.

Mike Emerick, from Lindenwood University, is libero of the week with 4.7 digs per game and a .925 passing percentage.

 

2/23/2009: Congratulations to the Week 5 National Players of the Week!!

Player of the Week: Kevin Alison - Graceland University

Setter of the Week: Austin Isham - Graceland University

Libero of the Week: Ryan Gonzales - Park University

Alison had an excellent week on offense averaging 5.66 kills per game while hitting as astounding .577 in their only match of the week.  They were 1-0 this week with their only match coming against conference rival Hannibal-LaGrange.

Isham was also a deciding factor in the Graceland win as he doled out 14 assists per game and adding 2.33 digs per game.

Gonzales helped Park University to a 3-0 record this week when they traveled to St. Louis. Gonzales averaged 5.0 digs per game over 3 matches.

Congratulations again to all of our players of the week!!!!

2/17/2009: Hope International sweeps the Week 4 Player of the Week honors!!  Congratulations on a great week.

Player of the Week: Alexandre Figuierdo - Hope International

Setter of the Week: Shawn Cui - Hope International

Libero of the Week: Noah Casaquit - Hope International

Figuerdo had a spectacular week on offense earning 8.7 kills per game while hitting .427 in their only match defeating Johnson and Wales 3-0.  He also added 1.66 blocks per game along with 1.66 digs per game.

Cui was had a hand in the victory dishing out 15 assists per game and adding 1.1 service aces per game.

Casaquit finishes the sweep this week as he averaged 7.33 digs per game with a passing efficiency of 94%. 

The top notch performance of these 3 players helped push Hope International up to the #4 ranking in this weeks National Poll.

2/9/2009: Congratulations to our Week 3 National Players of the Week.

Player of the Week: Devon Shiroma - Lindenwood University

Setter of the Week: Austin Isham - Graceland University

Libero of the Week: Mike Emerick - Lindnewood University

Shiroma earns his second consecutive player of the week honor by posting 4.89 kills per game and hitting .367 to lead his team to a 5-0 record this past week.  He also averaged 2.00 digs per game and helped his team move up to #2 in the national rankings.

Isham put up 12.41 assists per game helping Graceland to a 3-1 record for the week and moving his team up to 9th in this weeks poll.

Emerick helped his team Shiroma to get his player of the week award by adding 3.26 digs per game along with a .991 passing efficiency.

1/26/2009: Congratulations to our Week 2 National Players of the Week.

Setter of the Week: Philip Heckmann - Park University

Libero of the Week: Ryan Gonzales - Park University

Shiroma posted 5.5 kills per game while hitting .368 to lead his team to a 1-1 record this past week.  He also averaged 3.00 digs per game and had 1.00 blocks per game.

Heckmann put up 16.18 assists per game helping Park University to a 3-0 record for the week and a 6-0 record on the season.

Gonazles helped Park as well by adding 4.83 digs per game along with a .987 passing efficiency.

Frenc posted 4.6 kills per game while hitting .386 to lead his team to a 2-1 record this past week.

Haegele put up 16.3 assists per game in their only win this week by defeating Cardinal Stritch 3-0. 

Piedmont helped Missouri Baptist by averaging 5 digs per game.

1/19/2009: Johnson and Wales starts out 2-0 in conference play this past weekend with back to back wins over Hannibal-LaGrange College.  Johnson and Wales won both matches 3-0 and they also played a non-conference match versus Clarke College which they won 3-1.
